Day 6: The Red Ritual
Restoring Ritual: The Root Awakening Red Ritual
Main Points for Today:
Now that you had a root-oriented physical practice, lets discover the other aspects of it.
Your “root”, or the areas around and inside the pelvic floor and very low belly, is said to be a powerful place.
Yogis call this the location of your First Chakra (tch-a-krah, not sha-k-rah), or energy center, and its color is red.
The First Chakra is said to govern your grounding, deep emotional stability, family and safety, self worth, tribal security and elimination of energetic toxicity. It’s also the seat of subconscious and conscious fears about lack, not having enough, not being enough.
When you work with this area, you can release so much foundational fear and truly free yourself to trust the process, yourself, and your environment even more.
Anatomically, this area is where your pelvic floor and diaphragm, lowest abs, reproductive organs and the very lower part of where your nourishment/elimination organs are located.
You need a strong and open pelvic floor and diaphragm to help you nourish, eliminate and support your pelvis and sacrum during movement. It’s also true that your “chakra” point is the location of a crazy amount of energy, called your pelvic plexus, and all the nerve (electricity) movement that’s here.
Today’s ritual will help unblock, amplify and strengthen your Root on all levels—and deepen into the Mula Bandha (Root Support) Breath and this area’s seed mantra (power sound) LAM to keep your root rocking for a lifetime!
Go find some red stones or items and meet me back on the mat!
